431 runners at Montacute this week, including a record number of Langport Runners. Thank you everyone who came along to support my 100th Parkrun. I felt the love! (and your love for cake?!) Knowing I have been improving recently, I hoped for a PB, but I was still a little nervous about how I would feel after the first hill.

In particular, I must thank Mark for his determination to pace me to my target. It was more than a little helpful to have his consistent pace along side me. Hopefully a good warm up for Mark's 'slightly' longer race the following day!? It was also lovely to have support around me from Emma, Shelly, Taryn, Sandra and my daughter's boyfriend Nick (his first ever Parkrun), Julie from the side lines and my family and other Langport Runners on the course. I was amazed to knock exactly two minutes off my PB from two years ago. I couldn't have done it without the support. I am very proud of myself. Thank you again.

It turned out to be a productive day for PBs: 7 in all. It seems Grahame can't help himself with his 6th consecutive Parkrun PB, Kyle dipped under 19 minutes with an impressive new PB, Amanda topped her time again, Emma's second Parkrun lead to a PB, Shelly beat her best time from last summer and Charlotte knocked a significant 37 seconds off her previous PB. Jack's first time at Montacute was a better than his time last week at the flat Taunton course. More to come from Jack.

Also worth mentioning, ex-Langport Runner, Owen Astington was first finisher, shaving off a few crucial seconds to gain a 17:44 PB. Wow.

Joan was our sole runner at the Taunton Parkrun at Longrun Meadow and she topped our percentage figures with 75.71%, and Liz also achieving over 70% in her age category.

Remember there is a new Parkrun starting up at Shepton Mallet next week (29.4.17). If anyone goes, please let Mike or me know your thoughts on the course. I will be enjoying a rest and Marshalling at Montacute - with Bella🐩 and introducing my sister👩 to the world of Parkrun. Make sure you smile for my camera!
