Montacute

I am very pleased to say that the 192nd parkrun did take place at Montacute on Saturday.  It was looking a bit doubtful earlier in the week, because two very important members of the core volunteer team resigned after a confrontation with some runners over breaching parkrun & NT rules.  The first being that some runners had repeatedly allowed children under 11 to run on their own, despite being warned on several occasions.  The second was some runners confronted volunteers about not being able to use the balustrades on the Eastern wall at the back of the House to store belongings during the run.  It is important that we all respect the rules of the parkrun organisers and the NT and show our appreciation to the people that give up their time to organise the event and to the fact well done Nick for volunteering this week.

There was certainly an autumnal feel to the morning at Montacute and conditions were a little slippery.  As usual Jack, Sue and Liz put in some stellar performances with Liz pipping Jack (who was only 7 seconds of a PB) to top our table.  Well done to Katy who was very pleased to shave 7 seconds of her PB.  Your humble narrator was 9 seconds of a PB I ran out of puff after the hill and could not muster a sprint finish.

Longrun Meadow

Just Kyle and Hazel made their merry way to Taunton.  Kyle by his standards jogged around for a sub 20 min 5k as he is still working his way back to full fitness and Hazel smashed her PB by nearly ½ minute and is the star performer of the week.  Very well done Hazel.

Medina IOW

Amanda on her 90th parkrun became the second LR to run at the IOW parkrun.  Dave being the first!
