Where were you all? Something to do with a small matter of high winds being forecast leading to the cancellation of Montacute Parkrun and some doing the Ninesprings Saturday evening run, meant only three Langport Runners for me to report on. Easy job this week.........
The weather forecast lead to 29 Parkrun cancellations across the UK. The photographs from Seaton and Burnham looked like runners had to battle against the wind/rain. The high tide at Seaton meant no pebbly start and some very wet runners and marshals as the waves crashed against the prom wall.
Recovering from a knee injury, I went along to Longrun to support. I enjoyed being able to watch all the finishers for a change. Nick and, our daughter, Sam took part. Nick came a tidy 103rd on his 103rd Parkrun, Sam completed her 18th run. Weather was good, no wind, no rain, some sunshine. The usual soggy part half way round the course had lots of wood chip laid down so was surprisingly dry; quite puddly in other parts of the route. Chocolates at the finish from Hannah Taunton and her mum Gill, both completing their 150th Parkruns this week.
Sam Landrigan came an impressive 10th over at Shepton Mallet and tops this week's percentage table.
Note that next week's Montacute Parkrun has a Halloween theme, so crack out those costumes. The course will also be run 'backwards' for a change, no no steep hill at the end.
