It was nice to see the Yeovil parkrun resume and it was no surprise that a large field of over 300 runners took part; including the ‘Monty Stalwarts’ of Sue, Liz and Dave who have 252 runs here between them! The Perrin’s were also running the Monty, running together and obeying the rules of under 11’s running with an adult. Kyle with a ‘mere’ 40 appearances at Montacute finished in 6th place but was still pipped into third place on our percentage table with Liz top of the table this week and Sue in second place. James in third place recorded a PB with a quick run at Burnham.

Myself and Colin decided to go on a little parkrun tourism to Thornbury which is a lovely little town west of Bristol. It took about an hour to get there but was a fairly easy one to find and straight up the M5. This was their 14th run and like a lot of parkruns, has had a number of cancellations recently. The parkrun is close to the town centre which has plenty of coffee shops to go for a drink after. Quite a small field of 97 runners took part and was 3 laps of the park, which had quite noticeable slope to it.

Colin finished in 26th place and I had a trot around and finished in 42nd place. We had a warm down and adjourned too Coffee 1.

Roxane had a little parkrun tourism of her own and went to Exmouth Parkrun, her 20th venue. Rox made the following comments:  “Really friendly - lovely course along the prom - chuffed with under 30 mins.

Samantha found herself the only LR at Longrun Meadow. Hopefully the course is drying up now!

The afternoon I found myself along with a few other Langport Runners for the test run of the new Street parkrun. This event will start for the 1st running on Saturday 5th of May. The organizers would very much appreciate volunteers rather than too many for the first running of this new event. If you are able to help, please get in touch with them!
