Four Parkrun venues, eight Langport Parkrunners.
It was Street's second ever event this week. Run Director was James and Brian also volunteered for the second week. Numbers were down to 124, but, interestingly, 65 hadn't run here last week and 29 of these were completely new to Parkrun. Colin and Karen ran here. Karen ran a PB with nearly a minute off last week's run. Colin was one of the 65 first timers and top man in our table. The coming few weeks will no doubt settle down to a predictable number here and it is great to have another local alternative. Go along if you haven't tried it yet.
Kyle, Hazel and Liz all ran at Montacute; Liz topping our percentage table and Kyle's 55th Parkrun. Hazel produced a 13 second PB, particularly impressive as this has stood since September 2016.
Dave had competition this week with 4 others in his age category. Maybe this help him reach an over 50% grade.
Nick and I touristed for the first time at Royal Leamington Spa. Out-trumped by tourists from The Falkland Islands, we joined 519 others. The wide start copes well with the large numbers. It is partly on grass, partly through woods with one fairly steep hill early on. This is the first Parkrun we have seen the Run Director's spoken words also being communicated with sign language. They had tabards for those running their 50th, 100th or 250th Parkrun and Happy Birthday T-shirts for people to wear who were celebrating their birthday runs. There is always coffee and cake after. Payment not expected, donations if you have money with you. A very friendly and well organised run. We will go back.
