Saturday saw Langport Runners 'take-over' day at Street Parkrun's 12th event. Langport Runners filled all the volunteer positions: marshalling, barcode scanning, token giving, funnel managing, Run Directing, timing and tail walking. Nick donned the orange tabbard and stepped in as tail-walker with Brian out of action; and Kyle sped around the course for the first time, coming a noteable second place, then handed out Battle of Sedgemoor 10K leaflets to the 186 non-Langport Runners. Hopefully, many of these will now enter the race.
Dianne ran again at Champion Lake Parkrun, Western Australia; coming second in our table and 3rd lady on the course.
Adam B, Hazel, Dennis and David G clearly didn't get the memo about Street Parkrun and sneaked off to run at Montacute and Longrun. Another hot morning meant no PBs but a good turn out at both events (367 & 370); numbers at both events are still on the increase.
A message from Shepton Mallet Parkrun:
"There will be a Junior Takeover day on the 28th July 2018. These are always fantastic feelgood events. We ask for children to cover all the major roles as well as the marshal positions around the course (supervised by their parent) If you would like to volunteer your child then please message us via Facebook. The positions are Timekeeping, Funnel Manager, Scanner, Marshal, Tailwalker, Tokens, Photographer. Look forward to hearing from you."
and a message from Shepton Mallet Parkrun:
"We now have bibs for times between 20-40 mins and will vary them from month to month. If you fancy trying our being a pacer yourselves, send us an email before our next pacer event (which will probably be Saturday 18th August)."
