This weekend saw a change in the weather and provided us with some lovely running conditions across the Country, with 4 of our 13 runners recording a PB. Well done to Andrew, Wendy, Maggie and our new member Paul Parmenter. Kyle missed his PB set on 6th May 2017 by only 6 seconds!
I ended up being in Margate for my 50thparkrun (cake avoidance) * nearly 2 years to the day from my first, also in Margate. I was supported by my Dad and Son and decided to run my own race this week as I have been running with James (my son) recently to encourage him and he normally sprints the last 200 metres and leaves me for dead. I was not going to let him do that, so I outpaced him from the start! Unfortunately, I could not set a PB the Cotswold 24 and Invader Marathon in the two previous weeks saw to that, but I enjoyed the run and the ever-present breeze that running by the seaside brings. I will be brining some cake at my next parkrun.
Liz topped the table this week on her 99th parkrun, next week she will be running her 100th at Montacute and will be brining cake. The top seven runners in our table all achieved a percentage score of above 60% which is an excellent achievement. Well done to all of you.
Next week in partnership with UK Sport Street parkrun will be welcoming Laura Gallagher (Trampoline Gymnastics) as the tail walker and the week after it will be Yeovil’s 5th Birthday party.
