Lots of Halloween themed Parkruns this week; with 18 of us running at 7 different venues.
It was a very chilly run at Shepton. This was the first time Nick and I had tried Collett Park. Reports of it being 3 laps of a dull park had previously detered us to make the journey. However, we both really enjoyed it. A very friendly team of marshals, dressed in various scary costumes cheered us on. Interesting route, convenient & free parking, toilets on site and a lovely breakfast in town afterwards will defintely ensure our return.
Maggie and Mark were touristing further afield, running together at Colby, Pembrokeshire and Charlotte ran for her 9th time at Swindon. She came through the funnel as 5th lady. Mike and, his son, James were down at Plym Valley for the First Time.
Coincidentally, this week saw 408 runners at both Longrun and Montacute. Paul achieved yet another PB at Longrun; this time knocking 22 seconds off; it was also good to see Grahame is back running, his 30th Parkrun. Montacute ran the course 'backwards'; so runners enjoyed going down THE Hill this week.
Over at Street 'Spooookrun', there were lots of Halloween related outfits with prizes for the best and the worst costumes. I was delighted to see Brian back running. Karen, also at Street, pipped him to the top this week's table with only 2 seconds short of matching her PB. I don't think it will be long before he is back on top. Our second PB of the week was Katy's; 5 seconds off her previous best and 10th lady 😀, with James 8th finisher at Street.
