With no Montacute Parkrun this week, five of us migrated to Taunton's Longrun Meadow. No Langport presence at any other course. Something to do with Grizzly bears or Larmer trees maybe.........
At the beginning of the run, I asked Kyle and Grahame to run a PB to give me something to mention in this report. They duly obliged! I was delighted that I also achieved a PB.
The start did not feel too bunched up. However, with well over 300 runners, it does take a good 20-25 seconds for everyone to cross the start line. The course was quite puddly and very 'sticky' half way round each lap. The temperature was surprisingly mild.
Dave's result initially appeared as an 'unknown'. But this was quickly corrected. Perhaps, a reminder to take note of your finishing position and approximate time should there be a problem with the bar code scanning. Solihull Breuton Parkrun video the finish line in case of any problems with the results; but I think this is unusual.
Longrun are looking for volunteers to help lay more wood chippings around the muddiest parts of the course; this Friday (17th March) 3-5pm. Just turn up if you are available.
Montacute will communicate their decision by the Friday as to whether to hold their run next week.
Photos: None found. Not even Mr German caught on camera this week.
