This is my 7th marathon and after doing the half last year I know what was coming.

The hills are seriously hard work, sapping your energy straight out your legs. Don't think I have raced on so many different terrains in one race. Getting the right footwear is vital but sadly I got it wrong. Oops. And the wind makes it hard work. Running miles into a head wind, what joy. The race itself went very well, I started off nice and steady and on the second half I could put a bit more into it allowing me to catch up and over take about 20 runners which definitely gave me a boost. Really happy with my overall time of 5hr 5min.
