Only two Parkruns to report on this week; Burnham and Longrun.
Notably 13% of runners at these events were running Parkrun for their first or second time ever. I imagine this sort of percentage is typical around the country. Perhaps the start of many New Year Resolutions; and I think it also indicates how Parkrun will continue to grow over 2018. Many new Parkruns are currently in the planning, with the new Street one on track to start around Easter time. This should relieve the numbers at the current local runs, for a while at least.
There was no Yeovil (Ham Hill) run this week. So, our Parkrun stallwarts Dave and Colin ran at Longrun. With Dennis and Martin running at Burnham. Martin's son Ben also ran with dad, his second ever Parkrun and second venue. No PB's.
Longrun have introduced a PB bell to their event. A bit of fun to ring the bell if you think you have beaten your best ever time. It is something that a few Parkruns brought in last year.
