Well it is all about me this week! After missing out last week because of illness, I was well enough to jog around Street to bring up my 100th parkrun. I have ran at 16 different venues with Montacute being my most frequent with 39 runs. I have also Volunteered 19 times. My quickest time was at Burnham with a time off 23.05. Followed by Pegwell Bay 23.23 in fact I could have gone quicker that day but was the 24 minute pacer and slowed down a bit!
Street might not be the most scenic venue in Somerset but that is more than made up for by the core team and Marshalls who attend each week to cheer you on. I do love a Street parkrun!
The weather was kind today, with some hazy winter sunshine just peeping through, thankfully no howling gale or rain. 136 people ran, jogged, slipped and walked the course on Saturday. Conditions underfoot were challenging with just 3 people recording new Personal Best times. I would like to thank those of you that made it out to Street on both weekends it is much appreciated. I even managed to get Kate up on Saturday morning.
Richard travelled to Severn Bridge for the first time and Rox and Nick were at Clevedon Salthouse Fields parkrun with Sam who recorded the only PB of the week.
It was very tight at the top this week with less than ½% between the top 4 of Karen. Hazel, Amanda and Richard.
Hazel will hopefully be completing her 50th on NYD if she stays off the booze. I believe a NYD double is on the cards with Shepton and Street.
Don’t forget the NYD parkruns starting at 8.30 at Shepton Mallet, Henstridge at 9.00 and 10.30 at Street and Montacute (9 Springs). May be get a double in.
Happy New Year!
