My first parkrun report of 2020.
Nick and I marshalled over at Street, saving our legs for a Hashing weekend in West Somerset. Brian also marshalled, saving his legs for a more serious 10k the next day. With my 200th run getting closer, I thought I was overdue a bit more volunteering. The next official parkrun milestone is 250 runs, so I will hold off making a fuss until then (another year or so!). Looking at my stats, I was surprised and pleased I have now reached 26 volunteer credits.
I enjoyed seeing Wendy, Richard and Martin pass me 6 times. I felt quite chilly standing still, it was clearly a little warmer running. Wendy has given me permission to say she had a moment of realisation "if I don't talk, I do run faster" - I thought she was quiet! Her concentration paid off. The course was very soggy. Running shoes caked with mud by the end of the run.
Paul and Cathy were back at Longrun. The photos show the course still looks very wet. Longrun report noted 26 runners new to parkrun. January New Year resolutions? Gavin ran his 9th parkrun at Burnham.
Lots of faces at Ninesprings. Good to see Liz back running and Grahame, Liz and Amanda P topping this week's table. Hazel matched her PB, Kate and Amanda P were close to theirs and Sarah achieved a PB from 5 years ago, knocking almost a minute off her time. With Dave G and Amanda B, there was a good turnout from Langport.
