A park run report with a difference. Before full lockdown it was suggested that people find a park and run 5k at 9am on a Saturday on their own or in a very small group. A few of you did this on 21st, Katy, Roxane and Nick met up with Rich at High Ham, no photos as social distancing was in place!
Last Saturday, the first Saturday of lockdown meant any runs were solo or with family and had to be within running distance of your home address, (notice I didn’t put local for any of you ultra runners who wanted to do a 5k loop in the middle of your distance run!).
Roxane, Nick, Dave and myself all did a 5k “non park run” along with Amanda P and Cathy, if my interrogation of Strava is correct. (Still trying to get to grips with Strava, hence my non park run did not recordL)
Rox and Nick ran part field part road after being warned off the field by resident hawk. Whilst on the road they passed Dave on his non park run, lovely photo is courtesy of Roxane who of course kept the obligatory distance whilst taking it. Dave must have been enjoying the sunshine as he went that extra km! Dave aslo reported his daughter Sally did her vitrual parkrun in Lisbon.
From Strava it would appear both Amanda P and Cathy did road 5k’s and I ran 7 times round Kingsbury Rec.
I have age graded us all as would be the norm, and given us all the benefit of the doubt by assuming we are the youngest age possible in our age category.
Let me know about your non parkruns next week, with any photos, I am sure I will be able to find a small window to create a report.
