On Sunday morning, I ventured to the Butleigh 10k MT which is a race that has been going for over 30 years, it is part of the Somerset Series and supported by Wells City Harriers. The course has been tweaked over the years to make the run safer. The race is 90% trail through a lot of very muddy churned up fields and the route takes you through Butleigh Woods some a lovely Somerset Cider Orchards and you also get to see some stunning views. The distance was 10.4k and the elevation over 141 metres. We did a lap of Butleigh playing field to finish. Anne Kelly had a super run and was second lady and received a bottle of wine and some flowers. I can recommend this run and it was by no means a walk in the park, more importantly the cake was fantastic.
